GREENVILLE, SC: On Saturday October 14th at 8:30pm in Liz Daly Designs Studio, Wits End Poetry presents Buddy Wakefield of Seattle. BUDDY WAKEFIELD is the two-time Individual World Poetry Slam Champion featured on NPR, the BBC, HBO's Def Poetry Jam, and most recently signed to Strange Famous Records.

The night will feature a reception starting at 8:30 with light hors d'oeuvres, drinks, plus a DJ spinning chill-out lounge music in a progressive art gallery atmosphere. Liz Daly Designs is located at 640 South Main Street Studio 103 in downtown Greenville (Between Pelter Gallery and Rick Erwin's). Tickets $7 at the door or available online at www.witsendpoetry.com. This event is sponsored by the South East Arts Federation, the South Carolina Humanities Council, and Wits End Poetry.

PARKING: BoWater Garage via Spring Street (walk across foot bridge to S. Main St.) or new River Street Garage. No parking on South Main Street due to day time bike race - but west end streets will be open to traffic at night.

BUDDY WAKEFIELD is the two-time Individual World Poetry Slam Champion featured on NPR, the BBC, HBO's Def Poetry Jam, and most recently signed to Strange Famous Records. In 2004 he won the Individual World Poetry Slam Finals thanks to the support of anthropologist and producer Norman Lear then successfully defended that title at the International Poetry Festival in Rotterdam, Netherlands against the national champions of seven European countries with works translated into Dutch. Buddy, a Board of Directors member with Youth Speaks Seattle and member of Team Seattle 2006 for the National Poetry Slam Finals, is known for delivering raw, rounded, high vibration performances of humor and heart while shifting social paradigms and making origami gum out of cross-cultural barriers through powerful accounts of release.
