Ray McNiece has earned a national reputation as a poet and performer for almost two decades through his solo theater pieces, his poetry and music shows, his captaining of 2 National Poetry Slam Championship teams, his "edu-taining" children's shows and workshops, and his yearly country-wide tours of performance poems, stories and songs. http://www.raymcniece.com Meet/greet will be held at 7:45 before the Friday performance.

Exodus is a member of Split P Soup in Columbia and a member of the 2003 and 2004 Columbia Slam Teams. He recently appeared on the final stage of the National Poetry Slam in St. Louis. He has performed at the open mics, slams, workshops, and cultural arts events across the southeastern U.S.


10/8/04. Michael Salinger has offered his brand of creative writing workshops and performances from the Slam Cross Training Camp and the National Poetry Slam to Universities across the Nation. October 17 2004. Special Sunday Event . Thee Black Falcon
The Last Poets call Thee Black Falcon, "an American gem who has been buried within the mountains of Appalachia." This Southern Fried Veteran - with two CD’s currently out - has won slams across the United States, as well as having performed in Amsterdam and Suriname (South America). Thee Black Falcon has opened for The Last Poets(twice), Urserla Rucker, Jessica Care Moore, and Fertile Ground

November 12/13 2004. Queen Sheba at Betty Pearle’s at 8:15 pm Queen Sheba is the Norfolk, Virginia Slammaster. Queen Sheba is a master lyricist who incorporates her african influences to provoke and inspire audiences. From the urban pulse of hip-hop to the cerebral, timeless rives of pure jazz – Queen Sheba’s performances appeal to diverse audiences . The Queen's poetic themes deal with everything from old slave spirituals, serious societal issues, revolution, love, life, and liberty of the human spirit. Since the release of her debut CD, 'I confess…' produced by Grammy Nominated producer Brian Sullivan, over 10,000 copies have sold. She recently lead her Virginia team to a first place victory at the 2004 Southern Fried Poetry Slam in Miami. Meet/greet will be held at 7:45 before the Friday performance.

sini anderson, November 14 2003 at Dougal Maguires Sini Anderson is a Performance Poet, Producer, and Director living in San Francisco. Since 1994 Anderson has been the Co-founder and Artistic Director of Sister Spit and Sister Spits Ramblin Road Show. She has performed nationally and internationally for the last decade, in such venues as New York's PS. 122, Seattle’s Bumbershoot Art Festival, Lollapollza’s music Festival, The Michigan Women's Music Festival, Vancouver BC’s Rock for Choice, and on San Francisco Pride’s Main Stage. www.sisterspit.com

At age 52, Steve Marsh is not the oldest performance poet in the world, but he has been involved with the art form for a good long time. Steve is currently the Executive Director of Poetry Slam, Incorporated, the non-profit organization that administers all the "official" poetry slams in the world and brings the National Poetry Slam, the largest single performance poetry festival, to a new city in North America each year. He is a poet with many published poems and the author of five self-published and distributed chapbooks and one CD of his original work.
